You're No Saint

Hey my beautiful ones! Thanks for coming back to check out my latest blog. For those of you who got a chance to see the recent video I uploaded about Binghamton's First Friday, what did you think? Did any of you go to check it out? What did you think?

Anyways, this blog is about something completely different. There are a bunch of art galleries and little side shops downtown that use their spaces as venues for artists to showcase their work during First Fridays. So I took it upon myself to do some research about local venues here in the Binghamton area and I was shocked to see that The Bundy Museum has also been used as a venue on numerous occasions.

I was shocked for one of two reasons. First reason being that I had NO clue that The Bundy Museum was actually a History AND Art museum. Second reason being that I always thought it was just used for "museum-like" purposes anyways. So yeah... good to know!

Now to get back on the subject,, with my new found information and knowledge about this place, I wanted to know if I could possibly use The Bundy Museum to host my very first solo art show. But I know not to approach anything without being prepared and having something to back me up. So I've been brainstorming and focusing on a cohesive theme to go with for a show. Then it hit me...

THE....SEVEN....DEADLY...SINS (hence the title, "You're No Saint" ...((see what I did there?!)

So I'm in the process of working out the sketches for my ladies who will represent each sin and my next blog will be the big reveal of those sketches before I transfer them to the canvas and start painting.

Until next time... Continue to show your love and support.

Let's Be Real About This!

I've tried my hardest to make sure that I post to my blog everyday using the schedule that I made up. But with being a mom a student and working freelance, that's just NOT going to happen and I have to come to terms with that.

So instead of posting every day, I will be posting a new blog every other day and in each blog, I will have some type of video upload to go along with it. The whole point of my blog is to get more traffic in and gain more notoriety with my artwork.

Hopefully in the process, I can network and build more business contacts with new clients as well as other artists. So far I have been able to link up with incredible people such as +Johnny Prince , +Britney Eggleston and +Keenan Chapman  just to name a few. My goal for 2013 is to really get myself out there and become more of a household name.

Wish me luck and keep creating

Somebody's Been Slacking!!

GUILTY!!! I know I know... I had a set schedule of how I wanted to run this blog and I have been slacking. You have my deepest apologies... So let's see, the last time I posted was on a Tuesday, which means that I skipped 3 days worth of posts... Let me see if I can squeeze them all into one... Ok so here we go...

Wednesday:
So according to my schedule, on Wednesdays, I'm supposed to do a fan dedication piece and reveal it as my way of showing MY love and appreciation for all of my supporters. So with that being said, I figured for THIS week, I would do something special (not that every other week won't be special too)... Just saying... Ok so here is the fan dedication piece:
Now for those of you who are already familiar with me and know of my work, you already know that this isn't a NEW piece. However, with the holidays so close and trying to keep up with classwork, I didn't really have enough time to work on anything new for fan appreciation day.... SORRY!

Thursday:
Thursdays are the days where I tell a story of some sort to give you clues about what my next piece is going to be. But I'm pretty sure I gave it away on Tuesday... SPOILER ALERT!

Friday:
Well Fridays are supposed to be geared towards answering questions from the fans... but I haven't gotten any so.... That's all for Friday :)

FINALLY!!! We've made it to SATURDAY!!!!!

Okay, Saturdays as most of you know mean a long night of anime and also the Speed drawing/Painting and Big Reveal for the week... This week I went with Michael Jackson as Charlie Chaplin... I won't hold you up any longer, so here it is. Please feel free to leave your comments below and like share subscribe and continue to show your support... But above all else..

I'm Feeling...Inspired

Hello again my beautiful, beautiful readers. I hope that by the time you are reading this blog, that you are in the best of health and in high spirits. Today is Monday and that means it's time to post my inspirational pics and music for this week's speed drawing/painting. Before we get started, I'd like to post the "Quote of the Week."

This week's quote comes from none other than Charlie Chaplin...

Soooo.... if you haven't guessed it by now, my inspiration for my next speed painting/drawing is Charlie Chaplin... But wait! There's more... I was sitting and thinking to myself, how could I go further than just a regular Charlie Chaplin inspired painting? Now just to give you all a bit of insight on my creative processes, when I'm in my "thinking" mode, I absolutely HAVE to have music playing. I feed off of it so-to-speak. Not to drag out this explanation any longer, it just so happened that Michael Jackson would start playing on my Pandora channel. Then it hit me... Michael Jackson had a very HUGE interest in Charlie Chaplin's life.

He would even dress as Charlie from time to time. Just playing around or even for photo shoots. So I started researching different things about the two. Found a lot of things that I really REALLY was drawn to. For example, I know this isn't something that you would normally hear in reference to a male, but they both have these amazingly captivating eyes. Very full of life and beautifully animated at times... take a look at some of these pics to see what I mean...

Like I said... very captivating eyes. After doing more research on the two, I'm browsing the Internet just following lead after lead... Completely forgot, that Michael Jackson's song entitled, "Smile", was originally written by Charlie Chaplin. For those of you who don't know what song I'm talking about, don't worry your pretty little heads, because that song is THE SONG OF THE WEEK!!! and you can check it out riiiiiiiiiiiight here:

Very beautiful and inspirational song. Speaking from personal experiences, this song actually helped me get through high school (kids can be so cruel).... BUT I DIGRESS :)

Okay so with all of this information that I've literally spewed from myself (omg that sounds horrible)...

The idea for this next speed painting is to combine the two. So my speed painting/drawing, will be Michael Jackson as Charlie Chaplin, and I will call this one... "Smile".... Make sure to come back on Saturday for the Speed painting video and the big reveal.

Have any questions or want to comment about this blog.... Feel free to leave your words in the thread below. Until next time...
